This no bake delicious treat comprises a lemon custard in whipped cream over a chocolate and hazelnut base, with chocolate flakes on top and chocolate eggs on the nest.
These meringue nests are creamy and crunchy and taste tested by my 6 year old grandson. He gives the thumbs up to the custard incorporated into the cream version - thereby reducing the intensity of the lemon as desired for a child’s palate - and this is the main method shown in the photographs.
I provide different methods of serving based on how tangy the reader decides to make the recipe, with some additional process and hero photographs in the full package demonstrating other modes of serving.
Kids can help with the final stages of the recipe, gently folding the lemon custard into the whipped cream, or spooning into the nests and sprinkling the chocolate flakes on top.
